New Estate Workshop

The Estate Workshop has been housed for many years in a building too small for its intended use and the activities of the Workshop have by now outgrown this facility.

The space for storage of too
ls and all sorts of other equipment has slowly been spreading into various locations and, more importantly, has been too small a space in which the Residents could engage in meaningful activities. Plans for a new Workshop have been afoot for some time! and we are glad that those are now finally realised.

The main body of the new Workshop is light and airy, with plenty of space for work benches and enough for new [ activities such as pottery-making and working with willow which we grow on site.

An area is now provided for tea
-breaks.

There is plenty of storage space, and a small office which can serve as a meeting space.

A separate area has been designed for all the machinery, with its own service bench and more storage space for bigger tools.

There is a long canopy on the front of the building which will allow residents to work outdoors in all types of weather

This area overlooks the Village Green, and can also be used for other activities we may organise for the Community in the future

The new Workshop building is accessible to wheelchair users! and has been built to a high standard, also to ‘green standards where possible.

We all realise what a stunningly lovely place Corbenic really is - in all weathers and in all seasons.

On grass-cutting duties
Residents, co-workers, volunteers and staff all love the  fantastic panoramas of the Perthshire hills..

This is the Estate Hut, our HQ, if you like for all of us working on the grounds.

And a very popular gathering place too, for morning and afternoon tea- and coffee-breaks...

Getting in logs for the long winter is very important part of estate work...

Occasionally, when a tree come down in a storm, Corbenic residents and workers reap the windfall...literally!

Forestry work, such as sawing logs, contributes to community welfare - and builds up a good appetite in the process...

Repairing the tracks around Corbenic -  one of the many vital tasks carried out by the estate team
