Farewell auld hut...

The Estate Workshop was housed for many years in the Auld Hut. But really, the building was much too small for its intended use and the activities of the Workshop have by now outgrown this facility

Hello, new workshop

The space for storage of tools and all sorts of other equipment has slowly been spreading into various locations and, more importantly, has been too small a space in which the residents could engage in meaningful activities.

Plans for a new workshop have been afoot for some time! And we are glad that those are now finally realised.

The auld hut could tell a few stories...

The beautiful, spacious new estates workshop		The main body of the new workshop is light and airy, with plenty of space for work benches and more than enough for new activities such as pottery-making and working with willow which we grow on site. An area is now provided for tea-breaks.
There is plenty of storage space, and a small office which can serve as a meeting space. A separate area has been designed for all the machinery, with its own service bench and more storage space for bigger tools.

		There is a long canopy along the front of the building which will allow Residents to work outdoors in all types of weather.
This area overlooks the Village Green, and can also be used for other activities we may organise for the Community in the future. The new workshop building is accessible to wheelchair users. It has been constructed to contemporary environmentally-sound 'green' standards.
