Corbenic Camphill Community

Our Trustees

Good Governance

Corbenic benefits from a Board of Trustees that meets regularly to provide strong governance for the organisation.

We are fortunate to have trustees who bring a diverse range of skills and experience, and who seek to govern in a way that promotes safety, security, regulatory compliance and financial stability, while ensuring the organisation remains true to its values and aims.

I have been resident in the Dunkeld area since moving to Scotland with my family in 1989 and for the last thirty-three years have lived in Dalguise enjoying its beautiful location and countryside.

I retired from my position as a Consultant Paediatrician in 2010 having worked for NHS Tayside for the previous 20 years. I had specialised in community paediatrics being the Lead Clinician for Child Protection in Perth and Kinross ,heading up the assessment service for preschool children with developmental and learning difficulties and coordinating the medical services for children with Down’s syndrome.

Dalguise has long enjoyed links with Corbenic with residents often attending events at our wee village hall over the years. In particular, it has always been a pleasure to welcome residents to our Christmas celebrations. I am looking forward to developing deeper links with the Community through my position on the Board.

I’m thrilled to be joining Corbenic. My background is a blend of executive leadership and board governance. I worked in fashion retail, in senior roles helping organisations grow, change, and adapt— including executive roles at eBay and TJX and as CEO in businesses I started or helped build. Volunteering and charity board work has become an important part of my life since I left London to retire here 4 years ago. I’m especially interested in organisations helping people who don’t always have an easy time in the world to flourish and build real community, which is a big part of what draws me to Corbenic. Helping to create an environment where people feel like they belong gives me purpose.

Alongside being a busy mum, business owner, coach, and Talent Director in the tech industry, she was drawn to Corbenic for its strong values, inspiring community, and commitment to enriching lives

Maurice Naftalin brings a diverse background in IT, having worked as a developer, manager, teacher, and author across academic and business environments, alongside many years of involvement in voluntary organisations and community leadership. His connection to Corbenic is deeply personal, as his son Ben has lived at Lochran House since 2014. Grateful for the care, support, and opportunities Corbenic provides, Maurice joined the Board to give back to the community and contribute both his professional expertise and valuable parent perspective. He has a particular interest in strengthening communication and connections between Corbenic and families.

To join the Corbenic Community board as a trustee is a privilege. I hope to be able to contribute by bringing to discussions my experience in education in local state and boarding schools where I have enjoyed senior positions in both the pastoral and academic side of school life, teaching English throughout.

Beyond the classroom, I was heavily involved in musical theatre and latterly in the technical side of productions.

Since retiring I have spent time learning to play the cajon, converting a campervan and watching St Johnstone.

It’s an exciting prospect to be able to offer some  of my time and experience to such a warm, inclusive and welcoming community.

Graham Tinto is a retired GP who spent 35 years living and working on the Isle of Arran before relocating with his wife Barbara to Highland Perthshire, where they now live in Birnam. Through volunteering in the Corbenic Shop and being part of the local community, Graham has developed strong connections with residents and staff and values the opportunity to contribute his experience and perspective to the Board of Trustees.
