The first press of apples
The days are shortening fast and harvest festival is coming… time to dig out the apple press and test it works.
At Corbenic, the change of seasons are marked by familiar, annual tasks. Today in House Garden, the apple press dusted down and tested with the first press of apples.
We so nearly lost our trees earlier in the year. Wild rabbits had discovered the bark during the hard days of last winter. Tree guards were put in place but so much damage had been done that it was uncertain which trees would survive. Fortunately the trees have recovered and have produced lots of apples.
