Projects Delivered

As the 2022-2027 Development plan comes to a close, it is timely to reflect on the many projects that have delivered.

Many thanks to all those involved.

Lots of projects big and small have been delivered. Here are a few of them…

Community Barn

Our biggest development has been a new community barn, providing flexible, weather-protected space for gatherings, activities and community events, as well as new space for the expanded day service.

Installation of backup generators

Three generators were installed and connected to ensure that the full site can remain powered in the event of an outage. The system now includes new fuel storage with sufficient capacity to keep essential services running for up to three days.

Internet and on-site Wi-Fi network

Fibre optic cable was installed from the external connection point to the site, together with an on-site Wi-Fi network designed to provide sufficient coverage so that as many areas of the site as possible have Wi-Fi access.

Drumour Lodge Roof and Chimney Repairs

Improvements were completed to the Lodge roof, including comprehensive waterproofing measures and safety works to the chimneys, helping to protect the building fabric and support safe operation.

Upgrades to residential bathrooms and kitchens

Bathrooms and kitchens within the residential properties were upgraded and refurbished to improve comfort, functionality and overall living standards.

Garden workshop and accessible facilities

Improvements were made to the garden workshop, including refurbishment of the kitchen area and the installation of accessible toilets to improve access for all users.

Conversion of the old cow byre to workshop space

The old cow byre was converted into dedicated workshop space for the estate team, creating a practical area for maintenance and related activities.

Refurbishment of day service space

A new internal wall was constructed to separate the pottery workshop and create additional day service space. This made better use of the area between the pottery and craft buildings and supports multiple activities more effectively.

Water treatment plant improvements

Significant improvements were made to the water treatment plant, delivering better filtration and treatment of water from both the hill supply and the river. These works have improved water quality and system reliability.

Creation of a community store

A community store was established to provide organised and secure storage for bulk food and cleaning products.

Community BBQ area

A community BBQ area was developed, including re-roofing the old gazebo and creating level picnic areas on the green. These improvements enhance the outdoor social and recreational space.

Conversion works in Farragon House

Works were completed in Farragon House, including removal of a partition wall, removal of the kitchen hatch and installation of a new kitchen to support a more homely environment.

Replacement of fire alarm system

A complete upgrade of the fire alarm system was carried out in Drumour Lodge to support the highest category of fire safety.

Accessibility and common-area improvements

A lift was installed to ensure access to the Old Hall, alongside general improvements to the common areas in Drummond Lodge, including the prioritisation of residents’ artwork.

Renewable energy works: phase one

The first phase of works was completed to progress Corbenic towards its net zero ambition through the installation of solar panels.

Improvements to the Corbenic Shop and Café

Significant refurbishment was completed to modernise the café and kitchen, maximise seating, and enhance the customer experience.

Staff accommodation

Significant refurbishment of Easter Drumour Cottage was completed, converting the property from a one-bedroom cottage into two-bedroom accommodation suitable for up to two members of staff.
