Hamish the bullock made a break for freedom whilst being moved from his field to receive treatment. He headed for the new crescent-shaped embankment between the Corbenic Poetry Path and the Community Barn. Here, Hamish was over the moon with his fresh grazing, while it lasted.

Rounding up escaped livestock calls for extra hands. For smaller livestock, residents often help but not for Hamish. Tanja was aided by staff Pat, Ant and Alan. Hamish was returned safely to his pen to convalesce, none the worse for his adventure.

The sows on the farm were due to have piglets in mid August. The Farm Workshop have been waiting expectantly but the wait is now over!

Farmer Tanja reports “Last night one of our KuneKune sows – Pepper – gave birth to nine healthy and incredibly cute piglets!”

The hazel tree in the Garden needed a trim. But who would be tall enough to get the top branches? Fortunately help was at hand.

At Corbenic everyone helps everyone and every creature. Everyone is good at something. Sometimes, when things get difficult, there is always someone to help. So when something is out of reach, we can rely on residents to provide that helping hand!
