A New Walking Group
Daily Life, Outings, Workshops

On today’s walk in Glen Quaich, Corbenic resident, Alasdair completed his 1000th hillwalking kilometre. As the first in the group to pass this amazing milestone, Alasdair received a well-earned round of applause from his fellow walkers.
The 1000km have included some tough terrain, wild weather and 36747m of ascent – more than 4 times the height of Everest. Well done Alasdair!
Walking records start for Alasdair on 3 July 2024. In just two years, he has attended 89 Wednesday walks to achieve the 1000km. Walking in all seasons, walks have included ten unique Munro ascents. On one occasion Alasdair and the group summited 3 Munros in a day!
Today’s walk, to Meall nam Eanchainn from Glen Quaich, was 17km with 728m of ascent. Although not a Munro, it was tougher than many higher hills. On the hill we met Sam, who works on the estate. He was driving past on his ATV to do some essential repairs. He was very impressed with the speed the group walk.
The gallery features photos from a few of the 89 trips. Well done again Alasdair
