Time passes like sand through our fingers. The cycles of day and night and seasons provide clear markers but alone they are not enough. At Corbenic, we mark time by festivals and events. These provide temporal milestones for our community to understand the passage of time.

December sees us come together at Advent Cafés. These Friday afternoon, whole-community get togethers, herald the approaching shortest day and the festive season. By sharing food and music, along with the preparation and tidying up tasks, we bring the community together to emphasise the sense of belonging.

With time comes change. This year the final Advent Café is the last we will have in the Hall of Drumour Lodge. Next year, the Community Barn will provide more space and be more accessible. It will be different. Yet it will still be Advent Café.
