Listening works

The views of residents and Day Service attendees really matter. Staff and volunteers come and go, but residents have a lifetime of knowledge and experience.

At Corbenic, residents can feedback at weekly House Meetings. Most of the matters raised will be resolvable in the house. For wider issues, there is then a monthly Voices Group Meeting. Each House, along with Day Service, is represented. Within the Voices Group, matters that affect the whole site can be discussed.

Points raised at the Voices Group are minuted and these are taken forward. Two residents from the Voices Group attend the Board Meeting to ensure Trustees hear their views.

Maintenance issues, such as lighting on site are dealt with by our Facilities Manager. Whilst major work takes time, quick fixes such as ensuring brighter bulbs are in place can be quickly actioned.

Another recent example of views being actioned was the upgrading of signage. The new clearer, consistent signage is a great help to everyone visiting for the first time.
