Watching the morning mist burn away

As the days shorten and the air cools, the early morning Autumn mist is there at the start of day. The sun’s rays reach the higher ground first. The mist remains in the shadow near the river. This is the perfect time to visit the Corbenic Poetry Path.

A morning walk, even if just on the upper reaches of the Corbenic Poetry Path, is hugely rewarding. Before the human hum begins, the creatures are already busy. As the first intruder of to their realm, you will be rewarded with many sightings… but catching them in a photo is a real challenge.

This morning, the walk was all about the morning mist burning off as the sun rose. A startled deer, a hunting kestrel and multitude of rabbits provided company. Each morning brings its own wildlife surprises: red kites; otters at the pond; buzzards; woodpeckers or the roar of stags on hillsides.

It seems, whatever the weather, a walk helps. Even on a rainy day, we know these clouds shall pass…
