Residents’ Voices Heard Through Poetry

For the past couple of years a group of Corbenic residents have been getting together with Jon Plunkett each Thursday night to read poetry and work on their own poems. Last year the group had a collection of their poems published. They have also performed their work at events in Corbenic, and in other Camphill communities. Some also have their poems featured alongside sculptures on The Corbenic Poetry Path.

Recently four of the Corbenic Poets ventured through to Perth to participate in their first spoken word event. ‘Howl’ is held in café Osteria BAUBAU and brings together poets and writers from all over Perthshire to take to the mic for a five-minute slot to share their words. There were certainly some nerves beforehand, but one by one each of the Corbenic poets were introduced and took to the mic, performing their work with confidence and receiving much encouragement from the enthusiastic crowd.

Well done to Stephen, Toni, Andrew and Aaron for brilliantly performing your own poems in front of a live audience.
