Corbenic has a long tradition of accommodating our flying neighbours. This includes bats and birds.

The Corbenic Community Barn has fabulous features for these flying residents. Bats, owls and swifts play an important role predating on rodents and flies. Rodents and flies have a role too, but our flying friends keep their numbers in check.

Accommodating bats and birds was integral to the community barn design. The bat roosts are easily missed, looking very much part of the building. The owl box is easier to spot. They are sited at the south end to ensure the roosts are warmed during the day.

Swifts and swallows build nests of mud under the eaves. With a good overhang the barn also provides an ideal place for our swallows to make their nests.
