A Change of Course

Residents and Day Service came together to celebrate Pancake Tuesday with our traditional races. The day had dawned bright but cold.

Our race stewards inspected the usual course between Ossian and Lochran. Recent snow and ice had created a surface better suited to Winter Olympics ice events! A new venue was needed. Kathryn and the Horse Workshop team set a uphill piste on the Village Green which proved to be every bit as challenging!

Let The Pancake Racing Begin!

Under bright sunshine everyone had the chance to race or watch. Essential equipment included the frying pans along with specially baked pancakes. The participants carried their pans complete with pancake to toss. We were treated to a variety of techniques and with differing levels of competitiveness. Those with years of pancake racing experience were on hand to show how it is done. Those new to the event quickly understood and were happy to join in. At the finish, Stephen and Sinead were there to hand out well-earned prizes.

Well done everyone for taking part!
