Today we had pupils from Morrisons Academy working on a project to provide steps on a section of the Corbenic Poetry Path.
Today’s task was to construct sturdy steps near the Lost in Translation installation. Martin from our Estate Workshop was on hand to tutor in measuring, marking and sawing. Alice and Eva-Rose were then able to get working on sawing whilst teacher Colin began moving heavy rocks with a crowbar.
The photos below show the work in progress. The simple but effective design creates the frame into which aggregate fill is added. The frame is secured with metal pins, driven through holes drilled through the corner lap joints.
Thank-you to Morrisons Academy for completing the first step!
