The Garden workshop is a small market garden, about 1 ha in size and an orchard, set within the old walled garden area. Residents, day participates and co-workers take part in the daily activities of growing fruit, vegetables and herbs for the wider community. We have a wide variety of work ranging from making compost, sowing seeds, potting up, planning out, weeding, digging and best of all harvesting. We also use some of our products to make jam, chutney or cordials for the community. Despite the changeable weather, we have fun and enjoy each other's company at the same time.

The aim of the Garden workshop is to grow fruit and vegetables both organically and bio-dynamically to use within the community. The sense of purpose which has many therapeutic qualities comes to the fore during harvesting time when the year’s yield is laid out in preparation for the festival meal.
